Indonesia is a country made up of thousands of islands and is the world’s largest country made up of islands. Indonesia is a melting pot of cultures and religions, with various ethnic groups living together. Celebrations and traditions are colorful and rich, emphasizing the mixture of several religions. The diversity of Indonesia brought many religions to Indonesia such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and others. The long history of Indonesia has created a blend of cultures that you can only find here. The country has a diverse cuisine, beautiful architecture, and colorful traditions that paint a beautiful picture of Indonesia’s heritage.
Indonesia is a vast country with two-hundred and sixty-seven million residents living in the country. Due to the poverty rates in Indonesia, many students are losing their access to quality education. Other issues that Indonesia faces are environmental problems and pollution. The large-scale degradation of the environment through deforestation and forest fires has harmed the air quality, causing breathing problems for many residents of the country. Another issue plaguing the country is the marine exploitation of the ocean. Due to the geographical location of the country, many families are forced to rely on the fishing industry to support themselves. However, the decrease in fish is causing many families to fall into poverty. Children of lower socioeconomic status are increasingly not able to receive the education that every child requires. However, those who can afford education face the decreasing academic quality of the Indonesian school system.
UN Sustainable Development Goal:
Strive2Thrive Edu is happy to cover three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Project Indonesia. The first goal that we focus on is goal four, which relates to quality education. We help children in an orphanage in Bali develop their English skills because these children in the orphanages have very little English communication skills, which are necessary in today’s world. This is why our English tutors here at Strive2Thrive Edu help these children develop those skills through our online classes. The second goal that we focus on is goal 10, which relates to reduced inequalities. We at Strive2Thrive Edu believe that everybody deserves a quality education, no matter their gender or socioeconomic status. This is why we provide online tutoring for many children of all ages, both boys and girls, at the orphanage we work with in Bali. The third goal that we focus on is goal 17, which relates to forming partnerships. Strive2Thrive Edu has partnered with an orphanage in Bali, Indonesia, to provide quality English lessons to the orphans there.
